On June 20th-24th, four of America’s foremost experts in the art and science of sound healing will come together to lead a Sound Healing Retreat Intensive. This four-day immersion program is ideal for experienced sound healing professionals as well as holistic practitioners who wish to incorporate sound healing into their work. The course will be of specific interest to naturopathic and osteopathic doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and other professionals in the field of complementary and alternative medicine. The program will include instruction on how to structure and conduct a Sound Healing Session with a client, and how to recalibrate and realign energy centers of the body through the use of sound.Those who seek personal transformation through the miracle of sound will also find this to be an incredibly empowering and enriching experience.
The internationally renowned faculty includes Dr. John Beaulieu, Dr. Zacciah Blackburn, Mitch Nur, Ph.D. and Philippe Garnier. This intensive retreat experience also features special presentation by Lisa Rafel, Grandmother Barbara Threecrow, Steven Bachmann and Nepali Shaman Pramod Sapkota. The 2012 Sound Healing Retreat Intensive will be held at Menla House Retreat Center, located in Phoenicia, NY, 20 minutes from Woodstock.
A certificate of completion, signed by all retreat faculty members, will be awarded to participants who complete this training in sound healing.
“Sound Healing improves and transforms a range of physical and emotional states. It is especially effective for those with chronic illness, allergies, and compulsive behavioral patterns, or who are recovering from trauma and grief,” says sound healer, teacher, and retreat organizer Philippe Garnier. Sound healing has been clinically shown to support people suffering from stress related disorders and chronic pain, as well as patients undergoing cancer treatments.
Under the guidance of these remarkable scholars, doctors, healers, and sound practitioners, students will explore the healing potential of tuning forks, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, indigenous horns, voice, drums, and other percussion instruments. Participants will learn the therapeutic application of these tools to create sacred space, shift and expand consciousness, address a range of physical conditions, restore balance, and promote positive change at the cellular level.

Some highlights of the retreat include the following presentations on the theory, art, and science of sound healing. Dr. John Beaulieu, Ph.D. will teach a two-part class on how to use BioSonic Fibonacci tuning forks to induce altered states of consciousness in order to empower creative visions and work with dependencies and addictions.
Zacciah Blackburn, Ph.D., will share with us his immense understanding of how one can enter into Living Relations with the elements of Earth and Sky and channel Mother Earth's natural Life Force for the healing of All. Mitch Nur, Ph.D., the world's foremost authority on Himalayan Singing Bowls, will offer academic Master Classes with these amazing instruments of transformation, which are amongst the most sought out programs available today.
Event organizer Philippe Pascal Garnier will discuss the role of resonance, Sacred Geometry, herbal frequencies and the practical application of Sound Healing to ease and heal the "bodymind." Philippe will also demonstrate how to work with the crystal bowls and stimulate the activation of our crystalline core consciousness.

SOUND HEALING W/TUNING FORKS / The Art of Sonic Vision Questing with the Fibonacci Sequences
Dr. Beaulieu will teach a two-part class on how to use BioSonic Fibonacci tuning forks to induce altered states of consciousness in order to empower creative visions and work with dependencies and addictions. A new understanding of the relationship between vision, trauma, dependency, and addiction will be introduced. Once understood, Fibonacci tuning forks can be used as a sound healing instrument to set in motion a healing response. Special attention will be given on the first day to sound and stress science, states of euphoria, and PTSD, as well as the techniques of using the Fibonacci tuning forks. On the second day, Dr. Beaulieu will conduct a clinic focused on how to use sound and altered states of consciousness to empower the healing response in dependencies and addictions in order to deepen our clinical knowledge through experience.

Zacciah brings his immense understanding and proficiency to us, in how to enter Living Relations with the elements of Earth and Sky. All indigenous peoples recognize and interact with the Living Energies of the Cosmos, from the Talking Stones, to the Living Waters, Trees, Ancestral Spirits, the Sun and Moon, Star Beings, and many others. Zacciah will teach us traditional and non-traditional techniques of gaining direct access to, and communion with, the Living Energies of the place. Sound is a key component of his work, as well as an understanding of the vibrational aspect of all living things.
In this rich environment of ancient sculpted Earth, there are profound energies to work with. The Menla Mountain Retreat is nestled in an ancient meteoric impact crater, with very awake Earth energies available to us. The 'cocoon' created in this Living Sanctuary was quite vivid, and deeply experienced by most attendees last year.
Zacciah will teach how sound can be used to align with, and transport us into other dimensional awareness, coupled with techniques of indigenous wisdom, to touch the Earth and its Living Wisdom.

Zacciah Blackburn is trained in classical healing, shamanic traditions and sacred sound culture. He is practicing at The Center of Light Institute of Sound Healing and Shamanic Studies. Zacciah has studied with a variety of master teachers of various spiritual lineages, including elders of North, South, and Central American traditions, incorporating these teachings into his work over a three decade period. HARMONIC THERAPY DEMONSTRATION SYLLABUS
Harmonic Therapy is a non invasive based treatment, employing the over and undertones of sound through the use of indigenous instruments. Played live, they allow the listener an enhanced firsthand experience employing acousmatic, semiotic, and traditional as well as indigenous sound therapy to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social conditions. An effective entry point to the parasympathetic nervous system and can address issues that are both psychological and physical. APPLICATIONS AND USES OF THE HIMALAYAN SINGING BOWLS
Mitch Nur, Ph.D. is regarded as the foremost authority in the world on Himalayan Singing Bowls, also called Tibetan Singing Bowls. His field studies in the early 1970's in Nepal were amongst the first examinations of the culture by a westerner and lead him to be regarded as an "insider" by Nepalese and Tibetan academics. His personal collection of genuine antique bowls, Tibetan bells and shang is one of the largest in the Western world. The bowls are legendary in the Himalayas, and westerners' fascination with them have made them some of the preeminent sound tools for therapy and healing. The academic Master Classes with Himalayan Singing Bowls that he teaches are some of the most sought-after programs currently available today. Mitch will guide us on an adventure that will penetrate not only the myths of the bowls, but also their practical uses.
Mitch Nur, Ph.D. has been involved with the Eastern cultures for nearly 40 years in the specific areas of spiritual discipline, sacred sound practices and healing techniques. He currently lectures and teaches various types of workshops throughout the USA on the many diverse world traditions involving sacred sound instruments; including the human voice and nearly 100 indigenous sound tools. Lama Khemsar Rinpoche is his Bön root teacher and he has studied with the 33rd Menri Trizin, Geshe Chongtul Rinpoche , the 7th Kundrol Namkha, Geshe Tenzin Dargye, and HH the 14th Dalai Lama; he is a student of the eastern Tibetan Nyingma Master and Abbot of Osel Samten Ling monastery in Kham, Adzom Rinpoche. Mitch is the Spiritual Director of Studio 116, Senior Teacher of the 9ways Academia, and Founding Director of the Harmonic Therapy Association. He also assists visiting Lamas when they present teachings in the US.

Philippe will be demonstrating the many ways to work and play the crystal bowls. We will go through a range of "sound landscapes" to bring the client to a state of mind-heart and learn how to bring forth his/hers crystalline core essence.
Philippe Pascal Garnier is an accomplished sound practitioner who recalibrates and realigns the energy centers of the body through the use of sound allowing the Prana (life force) to flow properly. In this way, he assists in the release of unwanted blocks and helps restore the individual to an ideal state of balance in body, mind and spirit. Originally from Paris, Philippe Pascal Garnier has been initiated into sacred ceremony and practice in a variety of ancients and sacred traditions, he has worked extensively with the Amazonian curanderos, training in techniques that facilitate healing of the soul and body. He shares this expertise with the public through the organization he co-founded and directs: Sage Center For The Healing Arts in Woodstock, NY.
Philippe has been offering group sound healing sessions in numerous yoga studios in Manhattan and around the North East, in ashrams and sacred sites. He was honored to be part of the original soundtrack of Deepak Chopra Leela's interactive relaxation and meditation game. Philippe is also the organizer of an Annual Sound Healing Symposium taking place upstate New York. He has written and has been interviewed in various publications about sacred sound and appeared on numerous radio programs.

Lisa Rafel will present and teach her own Vocal Sound Healing technique. This process, which uses intuition, trust, vocal techniques, alignment and boundary exercises, creates opportunities for opening to grace and healing. The evening includes a demonstration on 2 - 3 participants. Each attendee will learn skills that they can use and share with others.

PRAMOD SAPKOTA ~ CEREMONY~ THE CALLING OF THE SPIRITS
Pramod Sapkota, a fourteenth-generation Brahman Nepali Shaman, will lead a traditional ceremony calling in the spirits, using sound frequencies of Mantras and Nepali Bells. ThHe will bring blessings to all who participate and maintain relationship with nature spirits and personal deities.
