Inspired by Lama Tsultrim Allione's contemporary adaptation of the Chod (Feeding Your Demons), Dr. Lennon has researched the roots of this ancient healing practice to bring forth the essence of the shamanic journey to awakening and liberation from painful self fixation. The Healing Chod is a safe and supportive active imagination method for reclaiming the heart of our shadow; all that we have disowned, repressed and exiled from our conscious life because it was too painful to accept. The shadow holds our wounds, our dark emotions, our sense of alienation from wholeness and disconnectedness from the divine.
This is a psychospiritual practice integrating Jungian Psychology with Buddhist Tantra. We use powerful imagery, soul retrieval, inner dialogue with our emotional wounds, ego-body sacrifice and alchemical fire to transform the limited ego into the open and liberated dimension of mind beyond fixation and struggle. When we recognize, honor and feed our demons with radical generosity and compassion we break the ancient habit of repression and self negation. When the ego is freed of its mandate of grasping and aggression, the illusory veil of ego is lifted to reveal the fundamental clarity, basic sanity and radiance of mind. This is the deepest state of perfection; resting in our essence, returning to the underlying freedom, joy and luminosity at the ground of our being...
Craig Lennon is a clinical psychologist with offices in Catskill and Saugerties, working for over 28 years with meditation, dreams and Energy Psychology.
